Henley Regatta which has been held every year in July since 1839 is the most prestigious rowing event in the world. For the last five years I have had the pleasure of acting as Toastmaster for fst, the brand communication agency based in Henley at their corporate hospitality marquee positioned right next to Stewards Enclosure. Its location, being on the south bank of the Thames, determines that this part of Henley is in Berkshire. However, the opposite North bank is in Buckinghamshire which is where I found myself the other day at a wedding held at the Phyllis Court Club, an elegant private members Club since 1906. When the rowing is underway, the opposing crews are allocated either a ?Bucks? or ?Berks? bank. I would commentate on the racing never having seen it from the other side. So I now know both Henleys. Being part of such traditions and history is a continuing privilege I am so lucky to enjoy.
